Deb is an Associate in the Litigation Practice Group at Thomsen Nybeck. She concentrates her practice primarily in the areas of general civil litigation, real estate litigation, insurance litigation, construction litigation, townhome and condominium law, employment law, professional liability and regulatory and licensing actions. Deb represents a wide variety of clients, including individuals, businesses, real estate agents, brokers and brokerages, appraisers and appraisal companies, title companies, engineers, insurance agents, employers, employees, community associations, non-profit boards and board members.
Deb has experience handling all phases of litigation, including conducting court trials and jury trials, representing various individuals and businesses at mediations or arbitrations, taking and defending depositions, and arguing motions before the court. In addition, she is trained as an arbitrator and mediator, and is a qualified neutral for mediation under Rule 114 of the Minnesota General Rules of Practice.
Deb's clients benefit from her multifaceted approach to the practice of law due to her Masters in Business Administration. Deb's blend of legal knowledge and business education allows her to provide clients with legal representation that is guided by an awareness of business needs and practices. Deb strives to proactively identify and analyze pertinent issues for clients so that they can implement the best possible solutions to accomplish their goals and minimize risk.
Deb's background has also involved teaching as an Adjunct Professor for the Business Practicum at William Mitchell College of Law. She currently serves on two non-profit boards and is active on those boards' building and planning and finance committees. Deb was appointed by the governor to the State Board of Physical Therapy in 2009, and she presently serves as the chair of the legislative committee for this board.
