Chris is the head of the Litigation Practice group at Thomsen Nybeck. He concentrates his practice in the areas of general civil litigation, real estate litigation, construction litigation, criminal law, employment law, and real estate law. Chris has represented clients at various court levels including state, federal, district, and appellate. He has also assisted clients through legal-related processes outside of court, including arbitration, mediation, and homeowner association hearings.  Chris has marshalled an array of litigation experience that he puts to use for clients, including knowledge and familiarity with jury trials, court trials, depositions, and motions. In addition, Chris has considerable experience with appellate work, including brief writing and oral argument.

In addition to his civil practice, Chris practices in the field of criminal law both as a prosecutor and defense
attorney, including currently serving as the chief prosecuting attorney for the Metropolitan Airports Commission. Having acumen in both the civil and criminal contexts allows Chris to provide clients with a well
rounded perspective in advising them regarding their legal concern. The breadth of Chris' experience not only
provides for strategic advice to clients, but also makes Chris an asset in collaborative settings with other attorneys
in the firm.

In addition to his work as an attorney, Chris serves as a legal writing instructor at the University of Minnesota Law
School, a position he has held since 2003. Chris is a member of the Volunteer Lawyers Network where he has
provided legal services to a variety of indigent defendants in need of federal representation.  Chris also has been
active in the community, including serving on the board of a local school serving refugee populations.  Chris has
been honored to be included on the Minnesota Law & Politics list of Rising Stars on multiple occasions, as well as
having been selected by the Wall Street Journal as its LawBlog Lawyer of the Day.
